The second episode of our annual series of short films on paddling and fishing, Rods, Rolls & Reality on the Soča, won the best short film of the 19th Festival Gorniškega Filma in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Festival Gorniškega Filma is a member of the elite group of IAMF festivals, which includes only 28 outdoor film festivals from around the world, and is the largest Slovenian outdoor film festival, so this award means a lot to us. In total, this is the third Festival Gorniškega Filma award for our small production, with which we make films for Balkan River Defence as part of the Leeway Collective. In 2019, The Undamaged received an Honorable Mention of the Jury, and in 2023, One for the River: The Sava Story won the festival’s Grand Prix.
This most recent award was presented to the screenwriter and director Rok Rozman and director and cinematographer Rožle Bregar by Silvo Karo, festival director and a famous alpinist in February 2025.
