To jesen so nam župani in občinski svetniki Zgornjega Posočja namesto kostanja zakuhali predlog za nov Odlok o upravljanju z reko Sočo.
Naš dokumentarec The Undamaged (Nepoškodovane) bo ta torek, 8. oktobra ob 20:50h na TVS 1 doživel televizijsko premiero. Vse od začetka post produkcije je bil namreč naš namen, da film po festivalskem obdobju doseže kar se da veliko gledalcev prav prek televizijskih projekcij. Upamo, da bo to prva od mnogih. Uživajte!
BALKAN RIVERS TOUR 4 – WEEK 3 RECAP Battling for Bulgarian Rivers Venturing into a pocket of the Balkans not yet explored, the Balkan Rivers Tour team had no idea what to expect as we drove south to Bulgaria. We broke up the drive with a few days on Montenegro’s Tara and Piva rivers, enjoying in the fun and friends at Kayak Fest Tara, before we rallied the winding roads from Montenegro’s Tara Canyon to Bulgaria’s Kresna Gorge. With over 10 hours on the road, the crew has plenty of time to brainstorm, visualize and plan for the week ahead. But no amount of dreaming could prepare them for the […]
The countdown is on! Just ONE WEEK until the start of the last week of Balkan Rivers Tour 4. We have never been to Bulgaria with the Balkan Rivers Tour and we are very much looking forward to changing that. Stunning rivers that are unfortunately in danger of being destroyed by dams and a highway, passionate local river defenders, scientists, kayakers and fishermen and a cool program provide some serious potential to making this a severely special week. For full program on the BRT4 | Week2: Slovenia, click here. Basecamp will be here: Eco Village Stara Kresna | www.starakresna.com | 41.789179, 23.178571 To join us in the basecamp (3 meals […]

The banks of the Soča River in Slovenia became the playground (and classroom) of the first ever Students for Rivers Camp during the fourth annual Balkan Rivers Tour. Twenty-eight students and more than 20 speakers from 20 different nations gathered with one common motivation; to use their brains to protect the last remaining wild rivers of Europe. “I basically came here to learn how I can help my friend Aoos and its tributaries?” – Dimitris Papageorgiou, student from the Aoos River | Greece Students and presenters from many different disciplines were invited to look at the threat of hydropower development from a wide range of perspectives. Only by understanding the […]
BALKAN RIVERS TOUR 4 – WEEK 2 RECAP Celebrating Slovenia’s Soča River The Soča River. She is where many of the Balkan River Defence (BRD) team learned to kayak. The river they call home. And the main inspiration behind Balkan Rivers Tour (BRT). Basically, what motivated this group of kayakers to take-action and stand up for all the rivers of this region. So, it’s fitting that we invited kayakers, university students and river conservation experts from around the world to our home, to celebrate the Soča River during week 2 of BRT4. Together with the River Intellectual’s Students for Rivers Camp, we gathered over 150 people to disrupt the norms of […]
After a long day of workshops, kayaking, lectures, presentations, hikes and alternatives hunting it feels good to sit down in the grass, open a beer, lean onto your neighbour/friend/sympathy and watch a cool film about saving the Momma Earth in style. This is why we have joined forces with Kamp Koren, Kendal Mountain Festival and Bovec Outdoor Film Festival and put together 18 stunning films to make this a reality. We call it BRT 4 Film Festival. Full schedule below: See you on the grass 😉
The countdown is on! Just ONE WEEK until the start of what we hope will be the most action, knowledge and party-packed week we have ever pulled off. On June 4thour founder Rok Rozman was presenting idea and work of Balkan River Defence with a pitch at The Funding Network event in London. The UK philanthropists decided it is worth supporting the cause and we are more than happy to receive a grant that will enable us to bring the movement into the second phase with more smaller projects for which we never had the funds to bring them to life. We will now finally be able to support our core crew. Thanks to TFN team and all the donors!
